Red Stag fight as herd moves past one of our ground-blinds

While waiting and hoping to film some deer activity a herd of red deer and fallow bucks moved in …They kept me pinned down in the ground blind until they moved through……. While waiting this fight broke out. As you will see the two stags who were fighting were joined by a third stag who seemed to be the “moderator”!!!!!

Building and testing my ground blind for Traditional Archery Hunting 2011

Found a great setup point just off a high-travel stream crossing between two ridges. Lots of deer and elk sign passing through the area. We made use of a natural blind and built it up with some more dead wood. It right around a 20 yard shot slightly downhill to the target area. We set up a mineral lick (legal in my state) and put a trail camera on the site after we got it all setup and tested. Hopefully I’ll be able to tag an elk here during season. I’ll try and get it on film if I do. For the practice shot I was shooting my 52# custom take-down recurve I built using a 502 grain total weight Carbon Heritage 150 arrow with a judo point on it (to keep from losing the arrow.)
